Teilnehmerkreis:
You are a GIZ employee, development worker, integrated expert or an external customer and you work with colleagues and target population who have experienced violence.
Ziele und Inhalte:
Psychosocial support ("Mental Health and Psychosocial Support") in the context of violence and refugees aims to support people to come to terms with traumatic events. This course focuses on employees who work with highly stressed people in their daily work. Course content:
  • to acquire basic knowledge about the social and phsychological effects of being a refugee, of violence and loss
  • to develop an understanding of psychosocial support in development cooperation projects and learning about the benefits of a psychosocial approach for all sectors of development cooperation.
  • to gain orientation in dealing with severely stressed people in the workplace ("staff-care"), also with regard to one's own health
  • to introduce and apply the STA - stress and trauma sensitive approach®

  • Role-playing, practical simulation, case studies
  • video clips

Introductory course on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)
for staff working in the context of forced migration and/or (post-)
